It is the fastest in the whole range, and by a wide margin
It pulls down to 6 °C in 30 minutes with 32 °C ambient. The rest of the catalog takes between 55 and 120 minutes, and those are units of far smaller capacity. And it recovers 8 °C in 8 minutes after the door is opened, where the other families declare up to 15.
It is the consequence of a machine built for a large load: 537 W of power draw for 1500 L, the same figure declared by the 628 and 968 L models.
And it is the only one in stainless steel
Stainless steel inside and out, where the rest of the range uses painted steel, drawn aluminum or HIPS. It carries three electrically heated glass doors, twelve shelves and casters.
The refrigerant is different too: R134a, while the other families use R600a or R290. And the condenser is copper tube with an aluminum plate.
Two trade-offs worth knowing before requesting a quote
The stated temperature uniformity is ±3 °C, not ±2 °C as on the compact, medium and large-capacity series. In a 1500 L volume with three doors that is to be expected, but it has to be said: if the protocol calls for ±2 °C, this unit does not meet it on paper.
And the test port and the USB port, which come as standard on every other family, are listed here as optional accessories. If the laboratory is going to qualify the unit with its own probe or download the record, they have to be asked for expressly in the quote.
The set of alarms is not the same as on the rest
It warns of high and low temperature, sensor failure, power failure and abnormal opening or closing. The other families declare thermostat failure and open door; here the sensor warning and the abnormal-opening one are different formulations, not the same ones under another name.
What it asks for on site
1800 mm wide, 775 mm deep and 1965 mm tall, at 245 kg net and 280 kg gross in its packaging. The usable interior measures 1680 × 640 × 1420 mm.
This is not a unit you carry up a staircase or fit through a narrow doorway: it is worth measuring the access route before the purchase, not on delivery.
