The ladder is the optics
The V300Pro sets wavelength by hand and states ±2 nm with a 4 nm bandwidth; the V500Pro moves to automatic selection and ±1 nm; the V600Pro refines to ±0.3 nm, a 2 nm bandwidth and 0.05 %T stray light. That is the step being bought: accuracy and bandwidth.
